TAFF Festival Night: THE Wagner Open-Air at Goldbergsee!

Die sogenannten Pausenmusiker zum ersten Mal auf den Balkon des Festspielhauses

The TAFF Festival Night at Goldbergsee is back for its second edition: On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Goldbergsee, located about 20 kilometers from the Festival Hall and in Marktschorgast, will once again be the idyllic setting for an exclusive open-air concert featuring only music by Richard Wagner and with participants from the Bayreuth Festival (Start: 8 PM). You’ll never get closer to the Festival! This is made possible by TAFF, the team of active Festival promoters in Bayreuth.

Conducting is Cornelius Meister, conductor of the new production “The Ring des Nibelungen” at the Bayreuth Festival!

Soloists include Klaus Florian Vogt – Lohengrin and Siegmund, as well as soloist in the concert under Andris Nelsons this year at the Bayreuth Festival – and Catherine Foster – Isolde in this year’s other new production and already celebrated on the Green Hill in previous years.

Around 45 musicians from the Festival Orchestra of Bayreuth Festival will create a true festival atmosphere on stage outside the Bayreuth Festival Hall.

The close ties to the Bayreuth Festival are demonstrated by the fact that the TAFF Festival Night at Goldbergsee is for the first time part of the official 2022 Festival program. Festival Director Katharina Wagner initiated the premiere event in 2021 and also supports the second TAFF Festival Night at Goldbergsee.

The programme features a “Best of Wagner” including the Tannhäuser Overture, the Grail Narration from Lohengrin, and Isolde’s Liebestod.

The evening will be hosted by the well-known comedian and theater producer (Comödie Fürth) Martin Rassau. The fireworks display, which will light up the sky over Goldbergsee at the end of the TAFF Festival Night, is the crowning finale of the Festival Night.
