Johannes Martin Kränzle, singer of the ‚Sixtus Beckmesser‘ in „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“, unfortunately has to cancel his participation in the performance on 24th of August 2019 due to illness.

The festival management has succeded in winning Martin Gantner for the role of ‚Sixtus Beckmesser‘. The Bayreuth Festival would like to thank Martin Gantner for his willingness to participate at short notice in Barrie Kosky’s production of „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“ and wishes Johannes Martin Kränzle a speedy recovery.
