Cast Changes “Lohengrin”

Die sogenannten Pausenmusiker zum ersten Mal auf den Balkon des Festspielhauses

It is with great regret that Anna Netrebko is unfortunately compelled to cancel the two “Lohengrin” performances on August 14 and 18, 2019 due to exhaustion. Although her voice is not affected, she is following urgent medical advice to take a three-week break to fully recover.

The festival management has succeeded in securing Annette Dasch as Elsa for the “Lohengrin” performances on August 14 and 18, 2019. Annette Dasch very successfully sang the role of Elsa in Hans Neuenfels’ production from 2010 to 2013 and in 2015 at the Bayreuth Festival, and briefly replaced the ailing singer of Elsa in the performance on July 29, 2019.

On August 7, 2019, in the “Lohengrin” performance, Thomas J. Mayer will appear as Telramund instead of the ailing Tomasz Konieczny, who already sang this role at the Bayreuth Festival from 2012 to 2014.
