Peter Younes
PETER E. YOUNES studied Lighting Design at the Theater Academy August Everding at Munich and works as an international Lighting Designer since 2007. He accustomed designs for Drama, Opera, Museum and Exhibition. Since 2013 he is deputy lighting chief for the BAYREUTHER FESTSPIELE and takes care of all productions of the BAYREUTHER FESTSPIELE MEDIEN GMBH, where he works closely together with Katharina Wagner.
His latest works include Richard Wagners LOHENGRIN at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona and the new production of DIE WALKÜRE at SHANGHAI GRAND THEATER produced by the GRAND OPERA. He also designed the lighting for DIE WALKÜRE at the BAYREUTHER FESTSPIELE for performance artist Hermann Nitsch during the DIRSKURS “RING 20.21”. For the BAYREUTHER FESTPIELE MEDIEN GMBH he designed the lights for the FESTSPIEL OPEN AIR and several productions of the BAYREUTHER FESTSPIELE OPERA FOR CHILDREN, including DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER, TANNHÄUSER, DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN, DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NÜRNBERG, TRISTAN UND ISOLDE, LOHENGRIN and PARSIFAL. The MARGRAVIAL OPERA HOUSE WORLD HERITAGE & MUSEUM at Bayreuth opened 2023 and the restored VENUS GROTTO at KING LUDWIG II LINDERHOF PALACE opened 2025 with his lighting design.
