Kwangchul Youn Will Perform the Role of “King Marke”
At the 2012 Bayreuth Festival, Kwangchul Youn will take over the role of “King Marke” from Robert Holl in all six performances of “Tristan und Isolde”, a role he had already performed in Christoph Marthaler’s production in 2005 and 2006. Unfortunately, Robert Holl was forced to withdraw from this year’s festival due to health reasons. However, he is confident that after his recovery, he will be able to sing “King Marke” in the concert performance of “Tristan und Isolde” during Bayreuth Festival’s guest appearance in Barcelona on September 6, 2012.
