Due to personal reasons, Ms. Christine Goerke is unfortunately unable to undertake new productions with correspondingly long rehearsal periods in Europe in the near future. Bayreuth Festival deeply regrets this, but nevertheless understands the situation. Festival Director Katharina Wagner is pleased that she was able to secure Ms. Iréne Theorin to take on the role of “Brünnhilde” in “Götterdämmerung”. Ms. Christine Goerke and Bayreuth Festival look forward to the artist’s debut in 2023 as “Isolde” in the new production “Tristan und Isolde”.
