Bayreuth Festival Orchestra on Spain Tour from 29 August to 6 September 2026!

In the anniversary year of the Bayreuth Festival, a special musical highlight is ahead: on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra will embark on a Spain tour from 29 August to 6 September 2026. With this tour, the orchestra brings the unmistakable sound of the Green Hill to some of Spain’s most important musical venues.

Under the musical direction of Pablo Heras-Casado, the Festival Orchestra will present selected orchestral and scenic excerpts from Richard Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen. The tour combines the celebration of the festival’s 150-year history with the international reach of an art form that has set global standards since 1876.

The soloists include three of today’s leading Wagner interpreters: Catherine Foster as Brünnhilde, Klaus Florian Vogt as Siegmund and Siegfried, and Nicholas Brownlee as Wotan. Together with the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra, they will bring key scenes and orchestral highlights from Wagner’s tetralogy to concert stages across Spain.

The programme includes, among others, the Entry of the Gods into Valhalla from Das Rheingold, Wotan’s Farewell and the Ride of the Valkyries from Die Walküre, Forest Murmurs from Siegfried, as well as Siegfried’s Funeral March and Brünnhilde’s final scene from Götterdämmerung.
