We are deeply saddened by the death of the truly unique artist Hermann Nitsch. His lifelong dream came true last year with the highly acclaimed painting action of “Walküre” at our festival. The pivotal founder of Viennese Actionism and most versatile contemporary actionist, painter, graphic artist, composer, and stage designer captivated us all, always in good spirits, curious, wide awake, and simply endearing. We will remember Hermann Nitsch with gratitude and honor his work.
