Due to illness, Johannes Martin Kränzle is unfortunately unable to sing the role of Sixtus Beckmesser in the performance of “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Martin Gantner will perform the role scenically and musically. Bayreuth Festival thanks Martin Gantner for his willingness to step in again for Barrie Kosky’s production and sincerely wishes Johannes Martin Kränzle a speedy recovery.
