Wagner for Children 2018

With a version of Richard Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen” specially created for children aged 8 and up, the “Wagner for Children” project is taking place for the tenth time in 2018.

Initiated in 2009 by Festival Director Katharina Wagner, “Wagner for Children” has since continuously developed and successfully and firmly established itself within the program of Bayreuth Festival, especially thanks to first-class casts with soloists from Bayreuth Festival. Since 2009, the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt has been the musical partner of the project. Further partnerships and cooperations exist with the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, the Theaterakademie “August Everding” Munich, and the Fair Play Foundation. A core element of the project is that children and young people are directly involved in the respective productions.

For the 10 performances of “Der Ring des Nibelungen” from July 25 to August 4, 2018, applications for tickets can be submitted exclusively online from May 14, 2018, 2 PM: http:// kinderoper.bf-medien.de/.
