If you are out at this hour and in this place, it is because you want something that you do not have; and I can give you that something.
Bernard-Marie Koltès, In the solitude of the cotton fields
A bridge at night.
Five figures dance, speak and sing beneath it. They tell their stories – true and invented – and explore their longings together.
Based on Richard Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde, three dancers, a singer and a narrator explore the themes of the body, intimacy and the desire for connection. A 60-minute performance is created under the Bayreuth High Bridge, in which different voices weave a multi-layered web around a contemporary practice of desire.
