Camille Schnoor

Camille Schnoor is a French-German soprano born in Nice in 1986. Praised for her "stupendous acting and powerful, fascinating singing" (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), she won the Bavarian Sponsorship Award for Performing Arts 2020, as well as the International Competition Vokal Genial 2013. The German major daily Newspaper Die Welt nominated her in both categories Best Singer and Best newcomer singer.

As a member of the Theater Aachen in Germany 2012-2016, she sang Luisa Miller (title role), Agathe (Der Freischütz), Maria (West Side Story), Marenka (Smetana’s The Bartered Bride) as well as Verdi's Requiem.

She has been a leading soloist at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich since 2016. Some of her signature roles in this opera house are Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Mimì (La Bohème), Tatyana (Eugene Onegin) and Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow).

Her Ciò-Ciò-San debut 2018 (Madama Butterfly) at the Opéra de Limoges and Opéra de Rouen-Normandie was highly acclaimed by both the public and critics and the production was streamed several times on French TV.

2019 she sang Fiordiligi at the Bergen Opera in Norway and made her house debut at the Opéra National de Lorraine in the role of Hilda from the opera Sigurd by Reyer.

Recently she had her debut as Marschallin in Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier in concert in Geneva, her house debut at the opéra de Nice as Hanna Glawari, and her debut as Ariadne in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos at the Opéra de Limoges. The Ariadne production was filmed and will be showed next season on French TV.

She worked with stage directors like Stefano Poda, Joan Anton Rechi, Michel Fau and Josef E. Köppliner and with conductors Frédéric Chaslin, Christian Arming, Laurence Equilbey, Daniel Kawka, Erik Nielsen, among others.

Camille Schnoor's upcoming projects include Giulietta and Antonia (The tales of Hoffmann), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) and Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, Léna (La Princesse Jaune by Saint-Saens) in Limoges, Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the Seine Musicale in Paris, and Schumann's Chorballaden at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

Her first solo Album Les Ames naturelles was released 2022 by the label Klarthe.
