wahnfood takes over catering of the Bayreuth Festival!

The newly founded wahnfood GmbH from Bayreuth takes over the catering of the festival guests in Bayreuth this year. Thus, after the pandemic-related difficult year 2021, the festival will again have an extensive catering offer for all visitors of the green hill.
Festival catering will be somewhat different this year than in the years before the Corona pandemic. The needs of the audience have changed, as have their demands.
This year, wahnfood GmbH will reorganize the areas of the festival gastronomy. The previous festival restaurant will become a large self-service summer garden – called Festival Garden – which will also be partially covered in the outdoor weatherproof area. In addition to the range of beverages on offer, including from the proven sparkling wine partner Geldermann, there will also be a self-service area with a so-called smart-food concept.
Guests will be catered for with small, healthy and regionally sourced portions – from cakes to starters, main courses to desserts. Inside the Festival Gardens, guests are free to take their seats at tables, while in the covered outdoor area, bar tables provide an opportunity to talk about the experience.
The former self-service restaurant to the right of the Festival Garden will be renamed the Green Hill Kitchen. Here, a similar food and beverage concept as in the Festival Garden will be offered at an all-inclusive price. Guests can also reserve a table here in advance. In the Green Hill Kitchen, guests can help themselves to the appropriate buffet stations. The seating areas are located in the Kitchen itself or on the adjacent weatherproof terraces, which are used as lounges.
In the outdoor dining area to the left of the Festspielhaus at the new Festival Kiosk, there will be a “Walk of Fame” with various gastro stations. Here you can enjoy the festival sausage, the festival pretzel or also the new festival croissant next to cold and hot drinks at high tables, which can be used weatherproof also in the rain. The concept is rounded off with various to-go stands under the name “Wagner-To-Go”, which are spread across the festival grounds and into the festival park, offering drinks, coffee, ice cream, etc. For pick-nick fans, there will once again be a special festival basket including a blanket and tableware for the first break, and on selected days there will also be an exclusive oyster bar.
Payment will be possible for the first time at all booths with the new festival gourmet cards. These click cards will be available with different credit balances, they can be used at each gastro station accordingly and can be purchased on the performance days from 1 p.m. at the box office stations around the Festspielhaus or already in advance online and in various stores in the city from the beginning of July. All information can also be found from 21.6.2022 on the homepage of wahnfood GmbH at: www.festspiel-gourmet.de.
