Bayreuth Festival mourn. rosalie, who passed away at the age of only 64. With her passing, the art world and theater lose an extraordinary and unique artist. She was a transformer of the world, often creating counter-worlds in her works—rebellious, subtly cheerful or defiant, surreal and disturbing, yet always filled with humanity and love.
Festival Director Katharina Wagner said: “I am deeply affected and shaken by this news of her death. A great artist has left us, and a person I was very fond of. It is a painful loss that makes me very sad. Her imaginative staging of the RING production in 1994 will remain in our best memories. My deepest sympathy goes to her family.”
