As the city of Bayreuth, out of respect for the victims of the recent acts of violence, forewent the Red Carpet for the opening of Bayreuth Festival 2016, the management of the Festival (Holger von Berg, right; Katharina Wagner, 2nd from right) welcomed the Minister of State for Culture and Media, Prof. Monika Grütters (center), the Mayor of the City of Bayreuth, Brigitte Merk-Erbe (2nd from left), and the District President of Upper Franconia, Heidrun Piwernetz (left), in the foyer of the Festival Hall.
