With the arrival of the choir and orchestra, rehearsals for this year’s Bayreuth Festival
performances have now fully
begun.
Rehearsals for this year’s new production of Lohengrin already began a week ago. In a discussion, director Hans Neuenfels, set designer Reinhard von der Thannen, and conductor Andris Nelsons presented their concept for the production to the ensemble and staff. Following the great success of last year’s children’s opera production, there will be a new children’s opera this year with Tannhäuser . Scenic and musical rehearsals for the revivals have also commenced; this summer, Der Ring des Nibelungen, under the musical direction of Christian Thielemann, will be on the program for the last time, alongside Parsifal and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
