Children – to the Green Hill!

With an action day for children in cooperation with the Fair Play Foundation Berlin and the sponsors of the children’s opera, BF Medien GmbH officially concludes this year’s costume competition for the project “Richard Wagner for Children – Tannhäuser 2010” on Thursday, May 6, 2010, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. For this special event, not only students from the participating classes from Berlin, Münster, Cologne, Forchheim, and Langenzenn are expected to travel. Furthermore, all interested children from Bayreuth and the surrounding area are cordially invited to participate in the Fair Play Action Day.

For the first time, the costume designs from the competition schools will also be shown and presented to a high-caliber jury led by the children’s opera directing team. This jury will then decide on the winning designs, which will be announced towards the end of the action day, around 3:30 PM. Members of the jury include Festspiel Director Katharina Wagner, Prof. Rolf Dierichs and Michael Mühlenbrock as representatives of the Fair Play Foundation, director and author of the children’s opera Reyna Bruns, stage designer Lea Walloschke, and head of equipment Monika Gora. The Fair Play Foundation also provides a prominently staffed jury board. To shorten the children’s wait for the decision, they will have the opportunity to express themselves creatively in numerous activities in and in front of the Festspielhaus. Painting T-shirts will be just as popular as playing football in front of the Königsportal.

Please accredit yourselves by Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the latest, for the action day at the following email address: presse@bfmedien.com.
