FAQ on the 2025 Online Instant Purchase

The online instant purchase has been taking place since December 1, 2024, 2 PM. Here, tickets can also be purchased for the individual works of DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN. https://ticketshop.bayreuther-festspiele.de/en

All persons who have a customer account with the Bayreuth Festival and whose email address has already been verified (cf. Section 4. GTC) can participate in the Online Instant Purchase.

Providing a valid postal address, a verified email address, and a phone number is mandatory for setting up a customer account. Registration and verification of a new customer account is also possible during the Instant Purchase.

To sign in, you need your customer number or verified email address and your personal password.

Under “Forgot password?” you can reset your password and then generate a new one. To do this, enter the email address stored with us and follow the instructions in the email we will send you.

Once you have entered the queue, the “first come, first serve” principle applies.
In the queue itself, credited waiting years, association memberships, etc., play NO role.

Unfortunately, the time span between entering the queue and being admitted to the ticket shop cannot be estimated in advance.

If you have received tickets for the 2024 Festival, your previous waiting years will expire. It does not matter which tickets you originally ordered and which ones you then select for instant purchase. If you did not have any ticket requests for the 2024 season, the preferred allocation can also be used in the following year. Any credit would then remain with Bayreuth Festival GmbH until settlement. Should you wish for a refund of the credit, please send an email to ticket@bayreuther-festspiele.de stating your customer and invoice number.

The overall availability of tickets for the individual works can be found on the left side. By clicking on the productions, the still available tickets for the individual dates will be displayed.

After entering the ticket shop, you have 30 minutes to select tickets and complete the order process.

A maximum of 8 tickets per work can be purchased, a total of 32 tickets. In price categories G1-G4, E3-E6, C6, and C7, a maximum of two tickets, as there are only a few seats.

The tickets in your shopping cart must be paid for immediately. Payment for tickets is only possible in Euros. For payment of your tickets, instant payment by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, and American Express), instant payment via PayPal, and offsetting with existing credits from canceled invoices for tickets from previous festival seasons are available.

After successful completion of the payment process, invoices are available for viewing, downloading, and printing under www.bayreuther-festspiele.de in the purchaser’s personal login area (“My Festival”). The purchaser will be informed by email about the provision of the invoice. After full payment, the tickets can be accessed and personalized by you in your personal login area “My Festival”. Upon completion of personalization, we will make your tickets available for self-printing or download/mobile in your customer account. To do this, please log in to your personal customer account, which you can access under “My Festival”.

Names can be entered up to seven calendar days before the respective performance. Should a ticket need to be issued under a different name at short notice (e.g., due to illness), a re-registration can still be carried out up to 24 hours before the start of the performance at the Bayreuth Festival ticket office.

The date for personalization and download of tickets for self-printing will be announced later; the purchased tickets will not be sent by post or email.

Personalization and Printing of your Online Tickets for Bayreuth Festival

You can find your tickets in your customer account, which you can access under “My Festival”.

Enter your customer number or your verified email address and your password. Then click on “Sign in”. You don’t remember your password or have never set one? No problem! Simply click on “Forgot password?” and enter your verified email address here. After clicking on “Submit”, you will receive an email to set a new password.

After successful login, you will be in your customer account, where you can immediately view your order. To print your tickets, click on “Tickets”.

 

You will now see a list of all tickets you have purchased. You must now enter the name of the visitor who wishes to attend the performance on the day of the event for each ticket. The entered name must match the name on the visitor’s ID card; otherwise, entry to the event will be denied. Confirm the name by clicking on “Personalize ticket”.

Please note that a ticket can only be personalized once! You can determine the time for personalization and printing for each ticket yourself. However, the latest date for this is always seven days before the performance.

 

Should the originally entered visitor name change due to unforeseen reasons, please contact the Festival ticket office up to 24 hours before the start of the performance.

 

 

If you now click on “Download Ticket”, it will automatically open as a PDF. You can now print your ticket. If you cannot open the tickets, you may not have program for viewing PDF files on your computer. Please install Adobe Acrobat Reader (https://get.adobe.com/reader).

Printing tickets is not strictly necessary; you can also show them on your mobile phone to our admission staff. When printing tickets, please ensure that the sheet has no patterns or marbling. The barcode must be clearly printed to be scannable at admission. You can fold the paper along the printed lines. Other manipulations of the ticket are not permitted.

To Make an Online Instant Purchase at the Bayreuth Festival, the Following Steps are Necessary

1. Joining the Queue
Due to high demand, a queue system has been installed. After the waiting time expires, you will be prompted to enter the ticket shop within 10 minutes. To do this, please click the button labeled “Proceed to Ticket Shop” as soon as the prompt is displayed.
Note: The waiting time depends on the number of visitors. Please note the instructions below the queue to maintain your waiting position. Prematurely leaving the queue will result in the loss of your waiting position!

2. Accessing the Ticket Shop
You now have the option to enter the ticket shop by entering your defined, valid (and verified) access data. To do this, you need to enter your customer number or email address and your password. Confirm your entries by clicking the “Sign in” button.
Note: Participation in the Online Instant Purchase is only possible if you are logged in.

3. Address Verification
To optimize our customer service and reduce potential problems with your order, you may be asked to provide your current contact information. This is only required if you have not already done so in advance. Confirm the changes by clicking the “Save” button to the right below the input form.

4. Online Instant Purchase
You now have the option to select available tickets for performances based on the schedule by clicking the “Buy Ticket” button next to the respective performance.
Note: You will only be able to access the online instant purchase if you meet the following requirements:

  • You have a customer account in the Bayreuth Festival ticket shop.
  • Your customer account has been verified in advance.
  • Any pending request to change the email address stored in the customer account must be completed.
  • Your web browser accepts cookies.

We recommend using an up-to-date web browser to avoid any technical problems in advance.

5. tickets Selection
Within the selected performance, you have the option to choose the desired number of tickets from the displayed (available) price categories in the two dropdown fields. Confirm your selection by clicking the “Add to Cart” button.
Note: Please be aware that tickets of your selected price category may no longer be available if you do not add them to your shopping cart immediately. Please also pay attention to the limits on the number of tickets. Both will be communicated to you with a corresponding notice in the shopping cart.

6. Shopping Cart
In the shopping cart, you can view all tickets reserved for you, as well as the total sum of the ticket prices. You can remove each ticket from the shopping cart by clicking the red button marked with a white X to the right of the displayed ticket.

By clicking the blue “Buy More Tickets” button, you will return to step 4 and can add more tickets to your shopping cart.

Click the “Proceed to checkout” button to continue the order process with a summary of your order.

Note: The content of the online shopping cart, starting with the first cart entry, is reserved for 30 minutes. If the entire purchase process (including payment modalities) is not successfully completed within this time frame, the entire content of the shopping cart will be irrevocably deleted.

7. Summary

In the summary, you will see your stored address data, a list of all tickets from your shopping cart, applicable fees, and the total amount due upon completion of purchase.

Payment for tickets is only possible in Euros. For payment of your tickets, PayPal, Klarna, and instant payment by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, and American Express) are available.

Then confirm by clicking the corresponding checkbox that you have read and accept our currently valid General Terms and Conditions. The GTC can be accessed via a link and can be printed or saved if needed. Now purchase the tickets by clicking the “Order with obligation to pay” button.

8. Payment Process
Please follow the instructions of your selected payment provider in the window that opens.

9. Confirmation
After completing the payment process with the payment service provider, you will be shown whether your payment has been confirmed or rejected, or whether a payment confirmation from the payment service provider is still pending.

10. Invoice Receipt
After payment confirmation from the payment service provider, you will receive your invoice from us. You can access your invoice in your personal login area (“My Festival”).

11. Receiving Tickets
You can retrieve your tickets in your personal login area “My Festival”. We will notify you in good time about this. To print your tickets, it is necessary that they are individually personalized in the “My Festival” area. In this area, tickets are available as PDF files for download up to seven days before the respective performance. Please bring your tickets in printed form to the performances.
