Natalia Skrycka
Polish mezzo-soprano Natalia Skrycka is an alumnus of Akademia Muzyczna in Kattowice. She attended masterclasses with Ingrid Kremling, Helen Donath, Deborah Polaski, Anna Tomowa-Sintow and Francisco Araiza. As a keen participant of international competitions, she won prizes at „ Ada-Sari-Competition“ and „Andrzej-Hiolski-Competition“ in Poland and at „Leoš-Janáček-Competition“ in Czech Republic. In 2017, she was a finalist of the singing competition „Neue Stimmen“ in Gütersloh.
After gaining first stage experiences in productions of her Music Academy, she debuted as Child in Ravel‘s L‘enfant et les sortilèges at Opera in Bydgoszcz and performed Suor Dolcina in Puccini‘s Suor Angelica in Katowice.
Starting in season 2015/16 Natalia Skrycka was a member of International Opera Studio of State Opera Berlin before changing into the fest ensemble in 18/19. She performed roles such as 2. Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Wellgunde in Der Ring des Nibelungen, Blumenmädchen and Stimme aus der Höhe in Parsifal, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Mary in Der fliegende Holländer, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly and Maddalena in Rigoletto.
Elsewhere, she appeared as 2. Dame at the State Operas Munich an Hamburg and as Waltraute in Die Walküre at Opéra National de Paris. At the Bregenz Festival 2017, she debuted successfully as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. In summer 2024 she gave her debut as Wellgunde in Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung at the Bayreuth Festival.
Natalia Skrycka is a keen concert solist and appeared as a mezzo soprano in Mozart’s and Haydn’s Requiems and released a CD with recitals of Stanislaw Moniuszko.
