Margaret Plummer

 The Australian mezzo-soprano Margaret Plummer completed her vocal studies at the Australian National University's School of Music and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She is a multiple prize winner in opera singing competitions and attended the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover in 2005.

 
The young mezzo-soprano gained her first stage experience as a concert soloist in performances with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Furthermore, she took on roles such as Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte at Pacific Opera, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel at OzOpera.
 
2007 - 2014 Margaret Plummer was a permanent ensemble member of Opera Australia and performed roles such as Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and the 3rd Lady in Die Zauberflöte. She has also covered major roles in her field such as Annina in Der Rosenkavalier and Waltraute in Die Walküre and Götterdämmerung.
 
Guest engagements have taken her to Ozopera and Sydney Harbour Opera as Flora in La Traviata and to Pinchgut Opera as Phoebe in Castor and Pollux. In the fall of 2014, she made her role debut as Charlotte in Werther at Lyric Opera of Melbourne.
 
From 2015-22, Margaret Plummer was an ensemble member at the Vienna State Opera, where she made her debut as Tebaldo in Don Carlo. Her other roles at the Haus am Ring have included Waltraute in Die Walküre, Hansel, Stephano in Romeo et Juliette, Meg Page in Falstaff, the Fyodor in Boris Godunov, and Varvara in Katja Kabanova. At the Tyrolean Landestheater Innsbruck, the artist most recently made guest appearances as Marguerite in La damnation de Faust, as Carlotte in Werther, and at the Hamburg State Opera she appeared as Meg Page in Falstaff.
 
Future assignments include her debuts as Auntie in Peter Grimes at La Scala in Milan and as Flower Girl in Parsifal at the Bayreuth Festival.
