Lena Kutzner began her career as a soloist in the girls' choir in her hometown of Hanover. 

Here she received her first musical and vocal training with Prof. Gudrun Schröfel. This was  followed by vocal studies with Prof. Carol Richardson-Smith at the Hanover Academy of  Music. Currently she is being vocally coached by Romana Noack. 

After stations in Hanover and Braunschweig (debuts as Ännchen, Dorabella, Hermia, among  others), she began her engagement at the Landestheater Neustrelitz in 2013, where she sang  Nedda (PAGLIACCI), Angelina (LA CENERENTOLA), Suzuki (MADAME BUTTERFLY), 

Nancy (F. v. Flotow's MARTHA), Donna Elvira (DON GIOVANNI) and appeared as Hansel in  Humperdinck's HÄNSEL UND GRETEL. 

In 2017 Lena Kutzner sang Margarethe in Gounod's FAUST at the Wernigerode Castle  Festival. In the same year she won first prize at the International Singing Competition "Adriana  Maliponte" in Milan and was awarded the theatre prize "Verbeugung" by the Landestheater 

Neustrelitz. 

In the 2018/2019 season, Lena Kutzner made her house debut at the Staatstheater Cottbus  as Donna Elvira in DON GIOVANNI and in the title role of Paul Lincke's operetta FRAU LUNA.  She also took on the soprano part in Haydn's DIE SCHÖPFUNG. In the 2019/2020 season 

she made her house debut at Theater Chemnitz as Gerhilde in Wagner's WALKÜRE and in  the children's opera BEI DER FEUERWEHR WIRD DER KAFFEE KALT as Telefon and Rabe  Jakob. 

She used the Corona period to prepare her change to a dramatic soprano, which manifested  itself with an engagement at the Staatstheater Meiningen. Here she made her debut as Senta,  Elsa and Elisabeth in Wagner's DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER, respectively LOHENGRIN  and TANNHÄUSER. She also sang the title role in SANTA CHIARA, an opera by Duke Ernst  II of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. 

In October 2022 she made her debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Senta from DER  FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER and in December 2022 her debut at the Theater  Mönchengladbach in the same role. At Theater Lübeck she made her debut with the role of  Elsa from LOHENGRIN and sang the same role there also in February and March 2023. 

 

In the 2022/2023 season she sang Senta and Elisabeth again at the Staatstheater Meiningen. 

In addition, she made her debut as Marietta/Marie in Korngold's DIE TOTE STADT.   

2023/2024 she debuted in Meiningen as Salome, as Ada in Wagner's DIE FEEN and as  Contessa in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO. In addition, she sang revivals of TANNHÄUSER and 

LOHENGRIN. In January 2024, she presented in Lübeck her first Chrysothemis in Richard  Strauss' ELEKTRA and will sing, in 2025, her first Isolde followed by another production of  TRISTAN UND ISOLDE at the Staatstheater Meiningen. 

In 2025/26, the role debuts of Agathe/DER FREISCHÜTZ and Tochter/CARDILLAC as well  as revivals of Elvira/DON GIOVANNI and Elisabeth/TANNHÄUSER will follow during the  season in Meiningen.
