Andri Hardmeier

 Andri Hardmeier, born in Zurich in 1974, first studied musicology and philosophy at the University of Vienna, then theoretical physics and philosophy at the University of Zurich. After graduating in theoretical physics and spending another year as a research assistant at the University of Zurich, he switched to music theatre. In addition to permanent engagements at the Freiburg Theatre and the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen, he has made guest appearances at the Salzburg Festival, the Basel Theatre, the Aachen Theatre, La Scala Milan, the Tongyeong International Music Festival and the Hanover State Opera, among others. As a dramaturge, he has worked with numerous directors, including Claus Guth, Ludger Engels, Eva-Maria Höckmayr and Marcus Lobbes. From 2011 to 2022 Andri Hardmeier headed the music department of the Swiss cultural foundation Pro Helvetia. In 2022 and 2023 he was dramaturg at the Ruhrtriennale. From the 2025/26 season, Andri Hardmeier will be head dramaturge at Zurich Opera House.
