Adrianne Pieczonka appears on leading opera and concert stages throughout Europe, North America and Asia. In addition to appearances at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna Staatsoper, Paris, Berlin, Munich Frankfurt, Los Angeles, and La Scala, Adrianne has performed at some of Europe’s finest summer festivals including Salzburg, Bayreuth, Glyndebourne and Lucerne.
Recent highlights include her appearances in the Met’s highly acclaimed Simon Boccanegra (simulcast live in HD), Der Fliegende Holländer in Paris, Frau ohne Schatten in Florence, and as Leonora in the Canadian Opera Company’s (COC) Fidelio. Her Tosca in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Sieglinde in Toronto, and title roles in Der Rosenkavalier, Arabella and Ariadne auf Naxos in Vienna remain unequalled.
The 2012-2013 season features appearances in Der Fliegende Holländer in Torino, Ariadne auf Naxos in Hamburg and Munich, Tosca and Otello in Berlin. She will make her role debut as Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmelites at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto and perform Verdi’s Requiem in Hamburg. Future seasons will take her to London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Aix en Provence festival, Toronto, Vienna and New York.
Adrianne’s discography features two highly acclaimed solo recordings: the JUNO-Award winning Adrianne Pieczonka Sings Puccini and a disc of Wagner and Strauss arias, both on Orfeo. Her recording of Lohengrin conducted by Semyon Bychkov (Hännsler Classics) was named "Disc of the Year" and received the "Opera Award" at the 2010 BBC Music Magazine Awards.
Adrianne is an Officer of the Order of Canada and, in 2007, was named a Kammersängerin by the Austrian government.
