As has been the case since 2013, Bayreuth Festival will again offer all interested parties in 2018 the opportunity to purchase festival tickets immediately, without prior order and often without multi-year waiting periods. The online instant purchase begins on March 18, 2018, at 2 PM (CET).
From this time onwards, tickets will be available for all 32 performances of the upcoming festival season in varying quantities and different price categories. Prospective buyers can directly purchase a total of up to 8 tickets from the six works in the program (LOHENGRIN, PARSIFAL, TRISTAN UND ISOLDE, DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NÜRNBERG, DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER and DIE WALKÜRE), and up to 4 tickets per performed work.
On March 18, 2018, from 10 AM to 8 PM, and on March 19, 2018, from 8 AM to 6 PM, a telephone hotline has been set up, especially for technical support, at the number: +49 +921 162 715 38. Emails sent to ticket@bayreuther-festspiele.de can only be processed from March 19 onwards, in the order of their receipt.
In the online instant purchase process, there are some significant changes this year:
A prerequisite for participation is a customer account with the Bayreuth Festival and a verified email address. Those who do not yet have a customer account can register immediately until March 15, 2018, 11:59 PM, at http://ticketshop.bayreuther-festspiele.de/de. The email address must be verified by March 16, 2018, 12:00 PM. – For technical reasons, new registrations will only be possible again from March 20, 2018, 2 PM onwards.
As we strive to make the festival performances accessible to as many interested parties as possible, we ask for your understanding that all those who have already been offered or allocated tickets for the 2018 festival season via online or written order procedures by means of an invoice, will only gain access to the ticket shop with a 24-hour delay after the start of the instant purchase.
The purchased admission tickets, the so-called online instant purchase tickets, will be provided to the buyer as a PDF file for download from June 15, 2018, in the personal login area “My Festival” (access on the festival website).
Before printing, the admission tickets must be personalized. Names can be entered up to seven days before the performance for which the tickets are valid. Should a ticket need to be transferred at short notice (e.g., due to illness), a re-registration can still be carried out up to 30 minutes before the start of the event at the ticket office of Bayreuth Festival.
