Thousands of Wagner enthusiasts from more than 70 countries will receive mail from Bayreuth in the coming days: Invoicing for festival tickets for the 2017 season has begun.
The Bayreuth Festival are still pleased with the high demand for tickets, which far exceeded the supply even with written and online orders: For the 30 performances, a total of approximately 230,000 seats were requested by the deadline of October 15, 2016. Approximately 36,000 seats are available for distribution. This corresponds to approximately 28,000 tickets, as the Ring des Nibelungen is only allocated completely in 3 cycles. The remaining tickets are included in fixed and approved contingents, e.g., for the city of Bayreuth, for members of the Society of Friends of Bayreuth e.V., the international Richard Wagner Associations, and the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation. A portion remains reserved for immediate online purchase.
The Bayreuth Festival endeavor to fulfill as many individual orders as possible that arrived by mail or online by October 15, 2016. However, due to the strong demand, it is unfortunately not always possible to fulfill every order in full or for the desired dates or price categories.
The Bayreuth Festival ask all recipients of an invoice to pay it in full by the specified due date, stating the invoice number. Since the queue of ticket seekers and those waiting is very long, the Bayreuth Festival ask for understanding that the offered tickets will be reallocated without further payment reminders if no payment is received in one of our accounts by the due date. The tickets will be dispatched from mid-April 2017.
It is possible to purchase tickets for the Bayreuth Festival without any waiting time through immediate online purchase. The start date for this is scheduled for February 12, 2017, from 2 PM (CET).
