Applications for tickets for the Children’s Opera 2016 are possible from May 12, 2016, 2:00 PM.
In the 2016 festival season, Bayreuth Festival presents, as part of the project “Wagner for Children”, a version specifically created for children of Richard Wagner’s “The Flying Holländer”.
The musical direction of the Children’s Opera is once again in the hands of Boris Schäfer, First Kapellmeister and Deputy Music Director at the Lucerne Theatre and musical assistant at the Bayreuth Festival. As in previous years, the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt (Oder) will perform.
The premiere of the Children’s Opera “The Flying Holländer” will take place on July 25, 2016, at 11:00 AM, on rehearsal stage IV of Bayreuth Festival, with nine further performances following until August 5, 2016.
Ticket orders for the Children’s Opera 2016 are only possible online.
On May 12, 2016, at 2:00 PM, the registration portal kinderoper.bfmedien.de will be activated, where you can apply for tickets for your desired date from that deadline. Tickets will be allocated according to the order of received applications; unfortunately, multiple applications cannot be considered.
School classes can apply for tickets immediately by email to schulklasse@bf-medien.de; requests from school classes must be received by May 12, 2016, at the latest. In case of ticket allocation, we will inform you by email by June 17, 2016, at the latest. This year, the Children’s Opera is aimed at children aged between 8 and 12 years; please consider this when ordering your tickets. We ask for your understanding that we cannot grant admission to children under five years of age.
