“Open Day” on October 11, 2015

Die sogenannten Pausenmusiker zum ersten Mal auf den Balkon des Festspielhauses

Bayreuth Festival cordially invites you to an “Open Day” at the Festspielhaus on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

Bayreuth Festival offers all interested parties the opportunity to extensively and thoroughly explore the Festspielhaus, free of charge, of course. Between 1 PM and 6 PM, visitors can get information and gain various insights, for example, stand on stage, explore the famous hidden orchestra pit, and visit the backstage area and workshops. An afternoon as eventful as it is entertaining awaits everyone. Of course, there will also be a special program for children.

Above all, exciting things will naturally be offered on stage: Among other things, parts of various stage sets are built up, and various theater effects are shown, for example, the “Fire Magic” from “Walküre” can be experienced live. In the foyer, visitors young and old can “transform” themselves with costumes from the collection and have professional makeup applied by makeup artist students from the August Everding Theater Academy. A personal souvenir photo is also available, thanks to the support of TaFF e.V.

Those who wish can receive information and expert explanations in the auditorium and orchestra pit. And in the foyer’s promenade, not only are various information points set up that invite conversation, but also a raffle with attractive prizes will be held there by the Society of Friends of Bayreuth e.V.

In the outdoor area at the Festspielhaus (workshop yard), there will be catering.

The realization of the “Open Day” is made possible primarily by the generous support of the Society of Friends of Bayreuth e.V. The Festival Management sincerely thanks their Board and Executive Management.
We look forward to welcoming numerous curious visitors.
