The Festspielhaus During Bayreuth Museum Night

Die sogenannten Pausenmusiker zum ersten Mal auf den Balkon des Festspielhauses

On November 7, 2009, the Festspielhaus Will be Open to all Interested Parties.

Even without one of the coveted tickets, a visit to the Bayreuth Festspielhaus is possible: on November 7, during Bayreuth Museum Night, the gates on the Green Hill will open to everyone.

From approximately 7 PM, entry for visitors will be exclusively through doors on the east side (restaurant side). We ask for your understanding that all other exterior doors must remain closed.

A wealth of attractions awaits you already in the foyer. We will show you not only props and other objects from past and present festival productions, but also, for example, the Nibelungen treasure and parts of decorations, furniture, costumes, and more. We will demonstrate some possibilities of lighting technology from earlier and today. You can watch the live recording of The Flying Dutchman for Children from summer 2009, familiarize yourself with how costumes are made, or, for example, have a bloody wound made up. Our shop is, of course, open. Perhaps you’ll even discover a special Christmas gift there… And only on this evening are the festival program booklets available for 5 Euros.

You can, of course, look forward to the performances on the stage of the Festspielhaus. Among other things, we want to show you what happens behind the curtain when it closes during a performance. We won’t reveal more yet; let yourself be surprised! The first performance begins at 7:30 PM, the second at 8:45 PM, and the last at 10:15 PM. You can relax, listen, and marvel in the auditorium for about 40 minutes each time.

Your physical well-being will also be well taken care of, guaranteed by Uwe Werner (“Wolffenzacher”) and Engin Gülyaprak (among others, “Engins Ponte”).

A warm welcome! We look forward to seeing you!
