Mourning Christoph Schlingensief

Die sogenannten Pausenmusiker zum ersten Mal auf den Balkon des Festspielhauses

Bayreuth Festival learned of Christoph Schlingensief’s death with great dismay and sadness.

With him, German theater loses one of its most important protagonists. His Parsifal production, which was on the Bayreuth Festival program from 2004 to 2007, set a significant accent in the performance history of the work that resonated far beyond Bayreuth. The Festival Management expresses its deepest condolences to Christoph Schlingensief’s family on behalf of all employees.
