It is with great dismay and sorrow that we have learned of Gerda Mayer’s passing. She had been an employee of the Festival since 1978 and a colleague esteemed by all, who initially worked in the Artistic Operations Office, later in the Press Department, and has since managed special projects for the Festival Directorate. Gerda Mayer was an extremely modest colleague who always fully identified with the Bayreuth Festival. We will miss her greatly.
