Due to illness, Dr. Sven Friedrich unfortunately cannot hold the introductory lectures at the Festspielhaus. We are very grateful to Dr. Frank Piontek for taking over the introductory lectures at short notice on the respective performance day at 10:30 AM at the Festspielhaus. Dr. Frank Piontek has lived in Bayreuth since 1988 and has authored numerous essays and articles on music theater, art, and literature. He has given lectures and readings in, among other places, Bayreuth, Leipzig, Salzburg, Paris, Berlin, Kassel, Bamberg, Verona, and Venice.

The ticket for the evening’s performance entitles you to free admission to the introductory lecture; it is also possible and free for all holders of a performance ticket for this season.
