In Memory of Peter Maus!

Die sogenannten Pausenmusiker zum ersten Mal auf den Balkon des Festspielhauses

We mourn the passing of the highly esteemed tenor Peter Maus. For 20 years, he performed various roles at the Bayreuth Festival, always musically profound and dramatically convincing. Peter Maus was an ensemble member at his home theater, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, from 1974 to 2013 and continued to appear there as a welcome guest artist until today. In 1995, he was appointed honorary professor at the Berlin University of the Arts, and on July 2, 2001, he was named Berliner Kammersänger. We miss Peter Maus and will honor his memory!
